All of my hand built jugs, bowls and spoons are designed and made individually by hand and no two are exactly the same. Hand made stencils, sprigs and linocuts of hares, birds, bears, flowers, stars and hearts are impressed into the clay to form patterns or to tell a story. A range of found objects including screws, nails, bolts and buttons are also impressed into the clay to form patterns. The inspiration for these pieces comes from my love of vintage textiles and storytelling.

 

Each jug, bowl and spoon is painted and glazed by hand, using my own range of softly coloured glazes and then lustred with specks of gold in order to catch the light. There is a sumptuous and tactile feel to each piece.  

All items are patterned and glazed underneath to  give a different dimension to a piece when pouring from a jug or picking up a bowl.
