Welcome to my website
I am a ceramicist, artist, maker, designer and businesswoman depending upon the time of day.
I have been a freelance designer and maker for over 20 years, creating hand built decorative and functional ceramics. I use porcelain as I love the fine quality and textures it produces. The translucency and the colours it holds is like painting on fine watercolour paper.
My inspiration comes from things I collect, quirky items and vintage textiles. I love storytelling, nature and the landscape around me. Birds, hares, bears and foxes feature prominently in my work, interweaved with flowers, landscapes and patterns developed from my own stencil designs, moulds and handmade sprigs and stamps. I am a natural collector of things which I love to recycle within my work.
All of my ceramics are handbuilt and painted by hand using glazes developed from my own recipes and playing around with combinations of colour.
Because each piece is handmade, it is unique and no two pieces are exactly the same.
Growing up, I have always drawn, painted and made things. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t doing just that. Long hours making ceramics and juggling family life is a rich tapestry and one that I wouldn’t change for the world.
