ASSEMBLAGES

My 'Assemblages’ are a range of mixed media sculptures using porcelain ceramics and found materials. Each piece is individually designed and features handmade porcelain ceramics, such as birds, hares, foxes, flowers and bees.
I am a natural collector of things which I love to recycle within my work. I regularly scour antique shops, reclamation yards and the countryside to find that special item that I know one day will become part of a new piece.
Wire, bolts, nails, screws and handmade clay sprigs are used to impress into the clay, designed to give a strong textile quality to my work.
After a high temperature glaze firing, each porcelain piece is lustred with gold, silver or copper, in order to catch the light.
Each piece is designed to either stand alone or hang on a wall.
