Handmade Ceramic Tiles

Lizzie Brown produces unique handmade feature tiles which can be set amongst plain tiles for all types of decorative interiors, or combined together to form exciting individual patterns, as all sizes of tiles can be fitted together to form an individual design.

The tiles may be placed in situ, as in a restaurant or framed and hung on the wall.

Her inspiration is organic form. The relief image in each piece is created by impressing clay into hand made plaster moulds. The moulds are made using a variety of plants, fruits and vegetables.

She also impresses leaves and other objects directly into the clay, or monoprints onto the bisque fired clay tile. Lizzie uses a wide range of glazes, which are developed from her own recipes and experiments with glaze materials. Some items have two or three glazes applied and may be fired more than once in order to achieve a particular effect.

Although some tiles are kept in stock, tiles are generally made to order.
Please note that all tiles are hand made and therefore will vary slightly in colour, detail and size.
